Welcome, and thank you for taking a moment to read my biography. My name is Eddie Sahakian, and I am honored to serve as the senior pastor for Calvary Chapel Brazos Valley.
I grew up in Southern California and was raised in a Christian home; although, I did not accept Christ until the week before my twenty-third birthday. I had a wonderful childhood full of love and nurture. However, in my Sophomore year in high school, my life dramatically changed. I was involved in a car accident and ended up in the hospital with a broken back and internal injuries resulting in two major surgeries.
After my accident, I became angry and full of hate. Feeling lost and looking for acceptance, I began to excessively abuse drugs and alcohol. On April 14, 2002, I hit rock bottom. Instead of seeking assistance from a recovery program, I felt the overwhelming need to go to church. I got in my car and ended up at Calvary Chapel Montebello. That afternoon I became born again of the Spirit of God, and my life has changed eternally!
In 2006, I went on staff at Calvary Chapel Golden Springs. While on staff, I served as a janitor, web developer, and associate pastor. Under the mentorship of my pastor, Raul Ries, God began to create a desire in me to teach the Bible.
In 2009 I met the love of my life, and in 2011, Sheri and I got married. We now have three amazing sons, Levi, Liam, and Lincoln. In 2015, I felt the call to start a church in the Brazos Valley. By faith, Sheri and I left California to plant the church. Our first service was on Sunday, February 7, 2016, and the fellowship has been growing ever since.
I greatly desire to see souls saved by preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ and lives changed by teaching God’s Word!
Fight the Good Fight,
Eddie Sahakian
